Welcome to the Solomons Steelers Lacrosse Program page!

The Solomons Steelers are a proud member of the Southern Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association (SMYLA), and offer Lacrosse in the Spring.  Practices start in early March and are held 2-3 nights per week at Cove Point Park.  The game schedule is done by the league, and usually start in late March or Early April. 

Athletes are placed on teams based on SMYLA league age.  

Athletes will be placed on teams based on their birthdate as follows:

U6:   9/1/2017 - 8/31/2019     (Registration cost for this age group is FREE!)

U8:    9/1/2015 - 8/31/2017

U10:  9/1/2013 - 8/31/2015

U12:  9/1/2011 - 8/31/2013

U14:   9/1/2009 - 8/31/2011

The Solomons Steelers Lacrosse program is excited to include all of its players, coaches, and the organization, in the USA Lacrosse community.  USA Lacrosse, the national governing body for lacrosse, prioritizes the safety and experience of the player.

Please purchase a USA Lacrosse Membership (https://www.usalacrosse.com/membership) for your child prior to completing the registration process and indicate participation in Solomons Steelers Lacrosse.

You must register online with US Lacrosse prior to registering online with the Solomons Steelers Lacrosse.

The Player is expected to have the following: Cleats, helmet, mouthpiece, arm pads, chest/shoulder pads, standard stick (no fiddler sticks), water bottle that can reach through the facemask.

Those players that already have a uniform will NOT need to purchase a new uniform unless they have outgrown last year’s uniform. Uniform costs are as follows:

• $50 for the jerseys
• $35 for the shorts
• $25 for the OPTIONAL shooter shirts

The Solomons Boys and Girls Club, Inc. is a nonprofit youth club that offers the children in our area recreational football, cheer leading, and lacrosse. We work hard to provide participants with a safe environment where they can learn and master the team sports experience. In doing this they will learn essential life skills and discipline such as teamwork, problem solving, self-awareness and growth as well as creative and critical thinking.
